Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team returned to action on Tuesday as they defeated 13th-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.), 7-2, to win their fourth-straight match.
The Blue Raiders (5-2) took the early lead over the Eagles (7-3) winning two of the three doubles matches.
Denis Porcic and Raul Mendez got Lindsey Wilson started with an 8-2 victory at doubles No. 1 over Maksim Yorsh and Nikita Hrynov. Ignacio Huertas and Alonso Tellez put the Blue Raiders up 2-0 as they won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
The Reinhardt duo of Fabio Pereira and Emory Deloach got the Eagles on the board with an 8-4 victory over Tomas Depiaggio and Javier Raya at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Mendez regained the two-point lead for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles and Porcic increased the Blue Raider lead to 4-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles. Tellez clinched the victory for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at singles No. 3.
Huertas continued the streak to start singles play for the Blue Raiders as he picked up another straight victory for Lindsey Wilson, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 singles. Depiaggio gave the Blue Raiders a 7-1 lead at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 victory.
Brandon Lane put an end to the Lindsey Wilson run with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles for the Eagles. The Blue Raiders were able to come away with a 7-2 victory to capture their fourth-straight win.
Lindsey Wilson faces another team ranked in the top 25 on Wednesday as they face No. 23 Asbury (Ky.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex at 2 p.m. CT.
