SILVIS, Ill. —Cristina Jimenez finished tied for third place to lead Lindsey Wilson women's golf to a fifth-place finish in the final round at the TPC Deere Run Women's Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by No. 20 William Penn (Iowa) on Tuesday.
After shooting a seven-over par 79 in the opening round, Jimenez recorded a six-over par 78 in the final round for a tournament total of 157, which was good for a share of third place with Wendy Monfort of No. 8 Bellevue (Neb.). Jimenez made par on 11 holes and birdied the par-5 10th. Her finish earned her all-tournament team honors at the invitational.
The Blue Raiders, who are receiving votes in the coaches' poll, shot a 48-over par 336 for the final round and a 91-over par 667 for the invitational to finish fifth out of 15 teams.
Lindsey Wilson finished two strokes behind fourth place Lawrence Tech (Mich.), which is receiving votes, and 44 strokes behind first place No. 6 Cumberlands (Ky.).
Kenna Richardson and Shayna Cockrill finished tied in a three-way tie for 20th place with a tournament total of 166. Cockrill (83-83) parred 10 holes on the day, and Richardson (80-86) made par on six holes.
Courtney Vincent finished tied in a three-way tie for 34th, while Kayla Cordeiro, who earned the Blue Raiders only other birdie, finished in a three-way tie for 43rd place. Vincent shot a 17-over par 89 for the second-straight day for a tournament total of 178. Cordeiro, who shot a 22-over par 94 in the first round, posted an 18-over par 90 for the final round and a tournament total of 184.
Kaitlyn Riley (71-72) of Cumberlands posted a tournament total of 143 to take home top medalist honors.
The Blue Raiders return to action for the Campbellsville Invitational/MSC Spring Tournament on April 4 in Campbellsville (Ky.).
