Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis moved their winning streak to seven matches as they defeated No. 17 Campbellsville (Ky.), 7-2, on Tuesday.
The last four games of the Blue Raiders (9-2, 2-0 Mid-South Conference) winning streak have come against teams ranked inside the top 25 of the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
To start doubles play, Denis Porcic and Raul Mendez (ranked seventh in the NAIA) defeated 11th-ranked Vladyslav Ladygin and Alejandro Soriano, 8-2, at doubles No. 1. Lindsey Wilson took a 2-0 lead as Ignacio Huertas and Alonso Tellez won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
Campbellsville (6-5, 2-1 MSC) took the final double match as Adrian Sabrojo and Victor Ahlbeck edged out Tomas Depiaggio and Javier Raya at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
Porcic started singles play with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles for the Blue Raiders and Tellez put Lindsey Wilson up 4-1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Mendez clinched the match for the Blue Raiders at No. 2 singles as he defeated Soriano, 6-1, 6-2.
Over the final three matches Huertas and Depiaggio picked up straight set victories at singles No. 4 and singles No. 5, respectively. Campbellsville picked up their final point of the match at No. 6 singles after Raya retired from the match. However, Lindsey Wilson won the match, 7-2.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Wednesday afternoon against Austin Peay State (Tenn.) at 2 p.m. CT at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
