Men's Tennis blanks Indiana Wesleyan 6-0

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis topped Indiana Wesleyan 6-0 today at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex on the Campbellsville (Ky.) campus.

The Blue Raiders (10-3) jumped out to a commanding lead, capturing all three doubles points.

Denis Porcic and Raul Mendez -- ranked No. 7 in NAIA doubles -- won their seventh straight match in the top-seeded doubles match to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 lead. The Blue Raider tandem cruised to an 8-1 win over Leonard Mathews and Brandon Dubuque to improve to 7-2 this season.

Tomas Depiaggio and Javier Raya doubled the Blue Raider lead in the third-seeded match with an 8-3 win over Austin Christner and Caleb Cottrell. Ignacio Huertas and Alonso Tellez made it a clean sweep in doubles with an 8-6 win over Tyler Abbott and Daniel Smith in the No. 2-seeded match.

Needing just two points to clinch the team match, the Blue Raiders won three singles matches before the remainder of the matches were stopped.

No. 29-ranked Mendez dropped just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 win over Brandon Dubuque in the second-seeded singles match for a 4-0 lead.

Raya and Huertas each finished their matches simultaneously to give the Blue Raiders the 6-0 win.

Raya beat Andrew Block 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 6 match while Huertas got the best of Christner 6-3, 6-3 in the fourth-seeded match.

Indiana Wesleyan -- who is receiving voting points in the top-25 poll -- drops to 10-7 on the season with the loss.

Lindsey Wilson returns to play at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, April 3 as the Blue Raiders travel to Bethel (Tenn.) in McKenzie, Tenn.
