Women's Golf finishes second at Carey Collegiate Fall Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team matched its season-low round today with a team-total 307, but failed to make up any ground en route to a second-place finish at the Carey Collegiate Fall Classic at Canebrake Country Club.

The Blue Raiders -- who carded a two-day total 621 (314-307) -- finished behind host William Carey's (Miss.) 613 (308-305).

Three Blue Raiders recorded top-seven finishes. Tara Rodenhurst led the way in fifth while Dacie Bolton and Courtney Vincent finished sixth and seventh respectively.

Rodenhurst posted a 3-over par 75 today over the 5,919-yard, par 72 Canebrake layout to close the tournament with a 151 (76-75).

After shooting a 1-over par 37 on the front, Rodenhurst sprinkled in birdies on the 10th and 13th holes -- with a bogey on the 11th hole -- to climb back to par on the day. Three bogeys over the closing holes resulted in the 75 -- setting a new career-best for Rodenhurst.

Bolton made the biggest jump of the day for a Blue Raider, climbing four spots up the leaderboard with today's 75. The round is also her new career-best round.

Following an outward-nine 39, Bolton shot even on the back nine, including birdies on the par-4 11th and par-3 16th. She closed the tournament with a 153 (78-75).

Vincent also made an ascent in the final round. Her 4-over par 76 prompted a three-spot jump into a tie for seventh in the 45-woman field. Vincent matched Rodenhurst and Bolton with a pair of birdies in the round.

Shayna Cockrill held steady at 17th with an 81 today. She finished the tournament with a two-round total 163 (82-81). Megan Kriz shaved five shots off Monday's round with an 86 today. She ended in 32nd place with a 177 (91-86).

Southern Mississippi's Kayla Bloor -- playing as an individual -- captured medalist honors with an even-par 144 (69-75). Rend Lake (Ill.) finished third with a 666 (330-336) followed by Wallace State (Ala.) with a 694 (340-354).

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on October 10-11 in the Blue Raider Classic at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
