COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men and women's swim teams produced a pair of dominant performances on Friday in dual wins over host Milligan (Tenn.) and Warren Wilson (N.C.).
The Blue Raider men posted a 122-53 win over Milligan and a 139-20 win over Warren Wilson to improve to 5-3 on the season in duals. The Lindsey Wilson women defeated Milligan 127-52 and Warren Wilson 150-6 to move to 7-1 on the season.
On the men's side, Jose Prado de Lima, Iker Larzabal and Clemens Paetzold each won twice while Michael Peck and Jonas Mueller recorded one win each during the meet.
Paetzold posted a national A qualifying standard with his win in the 100-meter backstroke. He touched the wall in one minute and 1.20 seconds -- more than a second over second place.
The Lindsey Wilson 200 freestyle relay team also produced a national standard during the event. The quartet of Prado de Lima, Paetzold, Larzabal and Zac Patzer finished with a time of 1:41.55 to capture the event.
The Lindsey Wilson women captured nine wins on Friday, led by Ronni Borders and Jessica Macdonald with two wins each. Tori Caudill, Ines Khiyara and Emily Wood also picked up wins during the event. Lindsey Wilson also won both relays on Friday.
Borders recorded two national standards with her wins in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Macdonald also posted two national standards for her winning times in the 100 and 200 free.
Lindsey Wilson closes out its dual season on Saturday at Transylvania (Ky.) in Lexington. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT.
