Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Webber International (Fla.) 87-46 on Friday at Biggers Sports Center.
Five Blue Raiders (4-0) were in double figures as Reagan Turner scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Devin Cheatum scored a career-high 16 points while Kayla Styles recorded 14 and was one rebound shy of a double-double. Heidi Huffman set a season-high in points with 11 and matched a season-high in three pointers made with three. Hannah DeBruin recorded a season-high in points with 10.
Lindsey Wilson outshot the Warriors (1-2) 47.7 percent to 34.7 percent including 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and limiting Webber International to just 2-of-11. The Blue Raiders held a 45-27 edge in rebounds and held a slight edge in bench points at 36-29.
The Blue Raiders outscored the Warriors 25-2 in the first quarter. Lindsey Wilson opened the quarter on a 20-0 run that lasted over eight minutes. After Webber International ended the run, the Blue Raiders went on a 9-0 run that extended into the second quarter to increase their lead to 29-2. Lindsey Wilson used a 9-0 run in the middle of the second quarter to help propel them to a 48-17 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Blue Raiders outscored Webber International 39-29 to help guide them to the 87-46 victory. Lindsey Wilson shot 48.5 percent in the half and limited the Warriors 39.1 percent from the field. The Blue Raiders also connected on four of their nine three point attempts in the second half.
