Box Score ATLANTA -- No. 9 Lindsey Wilson women's basketball shook off the rust of a nine-day layoff to beat host Carver (Ga.) 66-55 on Monday.
Heidi Huffman poured in a game-high 19 points -- including hitting five 3-pointers -- to help the Blue Raiders improve to 9-1 on the season.
Reagan Turner and Devin Cheatum joined Huffman in double figures. Turner tallied 15 points while Cheatum chipped in 10.
The game was the first for Lindsey Wilson since a 70-55 win over No. 25 Talladega (Ala.) on Dec. 2. The win begins a stretch of five games in seven days for the Blue Raiders, including four road games and a neutral-site matchup.
It was a struggled offensively for the Blue Raiders. Lindsey Wilson managed just 32.1 percent (18-of-56) shooting from the field. It was the lowest field-goal percentage of the season for Lindsey Wilson in a win.
The Blue Raider defense picked up the offense, limiting Carver to 34.4 percent (21-of-61) shooting while out-rebounding the Cougars 41-32.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Dec. 12, as the Blue Raiders travel to Reinhardt (Ga.) in Waleska, Ga.
