Men's Tennis beats second-straight ranked opponent in Reinhardt

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team sailed to a 7-2 win over No. 16-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.) today on the second day of the Southeastern Challenge at the Bacon Park Tennis Courts.

The win comes on the heels of a 5-4 win over No. 7 William Carey (Miss.) on Thursday -- providing a second consecutive win over a ranked foe.

Lindsey Wilson (3-1) won two of the three doubles matches -- winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles -- to enter singles play up 2-1.

Denis Porcic -- ranked fifth in the NAIA -- claimed the first singles point with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Fabio Pereira in the top singles match. No. 49-ranked Tomas Depiaggio quickly followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Nicolas Duarte in the No. 3 singles match to give the Blue Raiders a 4-1 lead over the Eagles (1-1).

Cobi Ho provided the fifth and team-winning point with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 win over Emory Deloach in the fourth singles match.

Ivan Solans Diaz added a straight-sets win and Filip Persson notched a superset tiebreaker win in the final match of the day.

Lindsey Wilson steps out of the Southeastern Challenge at 5 p.m. CT today as the Blue Raiders travel to NCAA Division II No. 3-ranked Armstrong State (Ga.).

Lindsey Wilson resumes the Southeastern Challenge on Saturday as the Blue Raiders face host SCAD-Savannah at 10 a.m. CT.
