Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis stepped outside the NAIA tonight in a 5-1 loss to NCAA Division II No. 3-ranked Armstrong State (Ga.) at the Armstrong Tennis Complex.
The match was the second of the day for the Blue Raiders -- who defeated NAIA No. 16-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.) 7-2 in the Southeastern Challenge hosted by SCAD-Savannah.
Lindsey Wilson's lone point in the setback came from the top-singles match as Denis Porcic earned a win when his opponent Luca Cerin retired in the first set after the pair split the first four games.
Armstrong State seized a 3-0 lead after winning all three doubles points.
The Blue Raiders trimmed the lead to 3-1 with the Porcic win only to have the Pirates claim wins at the five and six singles to clinch the match. The remaining matches were halted with Armstrong State reaching the necessary five wins to claim the team match.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday as the Blue Raiders face host SCAD-Savannah on the final day of the Southeastern Challenge.
