Box Score BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis bounced back from its first loss to an NAIA team this season earlier in the day with a top-10 win over Cardinal Stritch (Wis.).
The Blue Raiders (6-5) overcame a 2-1 deficit in doubles, to win all four completed singles matches to beat the No. 9-ranked Wolves (5-4) 5-2 in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday.
In a match that started late on Friday, Tomas Depiaggio and Denis Porcic claimed the lone Lindsey Wilson doubles point with an 8-5 win over William East and Gian Pico in the second-seeded match. Cardinal Stritch won at the top-seeded match in a tiebreak and at the No. 3 doubles match 9-7 in the highly-contested doubles to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.
Cobi Ho pulled the Blue Raiders even at 2-2 with the first singles win of the team match. He posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Raymond Weich in the sixth-seeded singles competition. Filip Persson pushed Lindsey Wilson in front for good with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Pico in the third-seeded match.
Porcic -- ranked No. 3 in the NAIA -- inched the Blue Raiders within a point of the team win with his victory in the top-seeded match. He defeated 13th-ranked Fabio Perasso 7-5, 6-2 for the 4-2 Lindsey Wilson lead.
Javier Raya completed the come-from-behind team win just past midnight with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Caio Barros in the fifth-seeded match. The rest of the matches were halted after the Blue Raiders reached the fifth team point.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday as the Blue Raiders face No. 15-ranked Olivet Nazarene (Ill.).
