Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team won six of the first seven matches in a 6-3 road victory over No. 8-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) to open Mid-South Conference play on Saturday.
Lindsey Wilson (9-5, 1-0 MSC) secured two of the three doubles points before clinching the match with three-straight singles victories. The Tigers (7-3, 1-1 MSC) then took the final two singles flights.
Tomas Depiaggio and Denis Porcic defeated Adrian Sabrojo and Alejandro Reyes 8-2 in the second-seeded doubles flight for the first point of the day. Alonso Tellez and Ivan Solans Diaz followed with an 8-2 victory over Zach Baulch and Mario Belloni in the third-seeded doubles match.
Campbellsville salvaged a doubles point with an 8-4 win against Filip Persson and Javier Raya in the top-seeded doubles match.
The Blue Raiders won the first three singles matches to secure the victory. Solans Diaz took down Reyes 6-1, 6-1 in the second-seeded singles flight. No. 50-ranked Depiaggio then defeated Sabrojo 6-3, 6-2 in the third-seeded singles match.
The top-seeded singles flight featured a top-six showdown as No. 3-ranked Porcic defeated No. 6-ranked Aguilar. Porcic dropped the first set 6-3 before rallying for 6-2, 6-3 wins in the second and third sets.
Raya swept Belloni 6-4, 6-2 in the fifth-seeded singles match to push the Blue Raider advantage to 6-1. Campbellsville struck back with wins in the fourth- and sixth-seeded singles flights.
Victor Ahlbeck won in three sets over Person -- 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-5. No. 49-ranked Castro the defeated Cobi Ho 7-6 (3), 6-4 in the final match of the day.
Lindsey Wilson opens conference home play against Georgetown (Ky.) at 2 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
