Women's Golf wins LWC Spring Fling tournament

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team carded a two-day 622 (317-305) to win the LWC Spring Fling on Tuesday held at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.

All five Blue Raiders finished sixth or better at the tournament led by Kenna Richardson's second-place finish with a 154 (80-74). She cut six strokes off her opening round 80, finishing with a tournament-high five birdies.

Tara Rodenhurst and Courtney Vincent finished tied for third after their 156s. Rodenhurst (79-77) carded 20 birdies in the tournament while Vincent (80-76) matched Richardson with five birdies and finished 2-under on the par-5s.

Dacie Bolton finished fifth with a 158 (78-80) and Shayna Cockrill took sixth with her 160 (82-78). Bolton led all Lindsey Wilson golfers with 21 birdies out of 36 holes.

Cumberland's (Tenn.) Morgan Stuckey took home medalist honors after carding a 153 (76-77) over the two days, edging out Richardson by a single stroke. Stuckey led the field with 25 pars during the event.

The Phoenix finished second in the team standings with a 660 (338-322), followed by Bryan (Tenn.) at 701 (349-352) in the six-team tournament.

Richardson, Rodenhurst, Vincent and Bolton each earned all-tournament team honors for their finishes.

Playing as individuals, Megan Kriz placed 10th, Ashley Strong finished 13th and Bethany Kreutzer placed 41st.

Lindsey Wilson is back in action on April 9 for the Broadmoor Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana.
