Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team won its sixth consecutive match with a 9-0 victory over Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders improve to 11-5 on the season while the loss drops the Wildcats to 1-11.
Tomas Depiaggio and Denis Porcic got Lindsey Wilson its first point of the match with an 8-2 victory over Edwyn Ramos and Byron Melbourne in the top-seeded doubles match. The Blue Raider duo improves to 10-4 on the season.
Ivan Solans Diaz and Alonso Tellez picked up an 8-1 victory in the third-seeded doubles flight over Otto Abad and Austin Daniel. Javier Raya and Filip Persson secured the doubles victory with an 8-2 victory in the second-ranked doubles flight over Barrett Phelps and John Griffith.
Porcic – ranked No. 3 in NAIA singles got the first singles point for the Blue Raiders with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ramos in the top-seeded singles flight. Solans Diaz secured the match with a straight-set victory over Melbourne in the top-ranked singles match.
Tellez, Depiaggio, Raya and Ho also posted wins during singles play.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Sunday for two Mid-South Conference matches against Shawnee State (Ohio) and Cumberlands (Ky.). The match against Shawnee State is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT and the match against Cumberlands is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
