Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team clinched the Mid-South Conference regular season title with an 8-1 victory over Pikeville (Ky.) on Saturday.
With the victory, the Blue Raiders (15-5, 6-0 MSC) have now won 13 regular season Mid-South conference titles and have won the last three titles.
Alonso Tellez and Ivan Solans Diaz got the first points of the day for Lindsey Wilson with an 8-0 victory in the third-seeded doubles match against Kenton Hall and Oscar Pacheco.
Juan Reyes and Nicolas Rodenbusch gave the Bears (7-6, 1-4 MSC) their only point of the match with an 8-4 victory in the second-seeded doubles flight against Javier Raya and Filip Persson.
Denis Porcic and Tomas Depiaggio secured the doubles victory with a 9-8 (7-5) win over Pedro Azevedo and Eric Bernabeu in the top-ranked doubles flight.
Porcic -- ranked No. 3 -- got the Blue Raiders their fist singles point of the day with a straight-set victory 6-1, 6-0 over Azevedo in the top-ranked singles match. Cobi Ho defeated Hall in straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth-ranked singles flight.
Tellez clinched the match defeating Rodenbusch 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth-seeded singles flight. Persson picked up a victory in the sixth-ranked singles match against Jorge Mejia 6-0, 6-0.
Solans Diaz defeated Bernabeau 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in the second-seeded singles match and Deppiaggio -- ranked No. 50 defeated Juan Reyes 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 in the third-seeded singles flight.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on April 21 with the first day of the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
