COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team carded a two-day 611 (309-302) to win the Blue Raider Kickoff tournament by 12 strokes on Tuesday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders shaved seven strokes off their opening-round total to win the 10-team event. Tara Rodenhurst claimed medalist honors after finishing 1-under for the tournament. She began with a 2-over par 74 on Monday, but followed with a 3-under par 69 in the final round to take home the individual win by two strokes over the next closest competitor. She finished 2-under on par-4s during the tournament, four strokes better than any other golfer. The sophomore also compiled seven birdies, which tied for the most in the field.
Courtney Vincent and Shayna Cockrill joined Rodenhurst on the All-Tournament Team after both finishing with 152s for the tournament in a tie for fifth place. Vincent shot a 78-74 over the two rounds while Cockrill went 76-76. The duo played the par-5s well, Vincent finishing at even-par and Cockrill finishing at 1-over. Cockrill also racked up 26 pars at the event, the most of any Blue Raider and second-most in the field.
Megan Kriz finished with a 164 (81-83) in a tie for 19th place while Morgan Markwell completed the Blue Raider squad with a 174 (84-90) in a tie for 32nd in her first collegiate event.
Competing as individuals, Dacie Bolton grabbed a top-10 finish with a 157 (77-80), while Ashley Strong finished in a tie for 47th place while Bethany Kreutzer finished 55th.
Indiana Tech finished as the team runner-up with a two-day score of 623 (312-311). Campbellsville (Ky.) took third with a 642 (321-321).
Lindsey Wilson returns to the links on Sept. 18-19 for the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at Cherry Blossom Country Club in Georgetown, Kentucky.
