Men's Swimming defeats Campbellsville 149-82 on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team defeated visiting Campbellsville (Ky.) in a dual meet 149-82 on Saturday at the Holloway Center Natatorium.

The Blue Raiders won 11 of the 14 races on the day en route to the victory.

Michael Peck, Hayden Krause, Jose Prado de Lima and Zachary Patzer teamed up to start the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay event. The quartet finished with an A cut time of one minute and 41.83 seconds to secure 11 team points.

Manny Griego picked up the first individual victory of the day after he won the 1,650-yard freestyle with an A cut time of 17:21.72, beating out teammate Peck by just under 15 seconds. The duo combined for 13 points in the event.

Prado de Lima won his first event of the day in the 200-yard freestyle event to pick up another nine team points. Alex Van Winkle took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.92.

Paul Pavala claimed a victory in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.85. The Blue Raider trio of Patzer, Tyler Glish and Van Winkle finished one, two, three in the men's 50-yard freestyle picking up a combined 16 points, bringing the Lindsey Wilson lead to 72-40 through seven events.

Patzer got his second win of the day in the 100-yard freestyle with his B cut time of 49.87 seconds as Jonas Mueller finished just behind with a time of 51.86 seconds. Pavala took home his second first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:04.31 as Peck finished in second.

Lindsey Wilson took the top three spots in the 500-yard freestyle when Prado de Lima won his second event of the day, finishing with the fastest time of 5:04.58. Mueller followed with a time of 5:29.77 as Van Winkle finished in 5:30.40. The LWC trio scored 16 points in the event.

Patzer picked up his third and final victory of the day in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.85 seconds.

Griego accounted for the Blue Raiders' final victory after winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.64. Pavala finished in second with a time of 2:08.93.

Prado de Lima, Mueller, Van Winkle and Pavala teamed up in the final event of the day with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet finished with an A cut time of 1:35.18.

Up next for the Blue Raiders is the Mid-South Conference Championship on Feb. 1-3 in Kingsport, Tenn.
