BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson archery team competed in its first-ever event on Saturday at the 3D Regional Championships hosted by Union (Ky.).
Five Blue Raiders posted top-three individual finishes led by Olivia Harner -- who won the women's recurve event with a 316. The victory marks the first-ever win for a Blue Raider archery student-athlete.
Taylor Bell, Drew Canos, and Cameron Curran all posted runner-up finishes in their respective discipline.
Bell finished four points off the winning score in the men's bowhunter competition. He shot a 424 compared to Cumberlands' (Ky.) Caleb Dixon's 428. Canos posted a 371 in the men's recurve -- finishing behind Pikeville's (Ky.) A.J. Clements' 380. Curran ended with a 283 in the men's basic bow, 17 points off the winning score.
Alexandria Weaver posted the lone individual third-place finish. She scored 224 in the women's basic bow.
In the team competition, Lindsey Wilson placed in the top three in eight of the 11 competitions.
The Blue Raiders finished second in the men's bowhunter and men and women's recurve. Lindsey Wilson finished third in the women and mixed compound bow, mixed bowhunter, and men and mixed basic bow.
Lindsey Wilson competes in the Mid-South Conference 3D Championships on Sunday at the UC All-Purpose Field on the Cumberlands' campus.
