VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team played all 36 holes of the Thomas Invitational on Monday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, completing the event in fourth place and in one day due to the impending storms from Hurricane Michael.
The Invitational had been scheduled to be played with round one on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday, but with the storm scheduled to make landfall changes to the schedule were made.
The Blue Raiders totaled 667 (341-326) strokes across the two rounds to finish in fourth place. Cumberlands (Ky.) won the invitational after posting a 15-over par, 602 (299-303) stroke total. Cumberland (Tenn.) finished in second place with a 641 (318-323) as Campbellsville (Ky.) finished just ahead of the Blue Raiders in third after a 662 (327-335) stroke finish.
Tara Rodenhurst carded the lowest two round score for Lindsey Wilson after recording 155 strokes, shooting an 80 in round one and a 75 in her second round of the day to finish in fifth place for the tournament.
Courtney Vincent finished just behind in 11th place with a 163 (85-78) as LWC teammate Dacie Bolton carded a 166 (85-81) to finish alone in 16th place. Logan Jenkins finished in 29th after posting a 183 (91-92) two round score.
Bo Park was the final Blue Raider in action on the day as she was forced to end rounds early due to injury.
Cumberlands' Brianna Baird managed to take an individual first place finish after turning in a 2-over par, 146 (73-73) finish.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Oct. 22-23 when they compete at the Roadrunner Classic at Nob North Golf Course.
