Box Score MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team wraps up their weekend at the Mid-South Conference/Southern States Athletic Conference Challenge hosted by Bethel (Tenn.) with a 78-63 victory over Martin Methodist (Tenn.).
The Blue Raiders (3-2) built a solid first-half lead and held off the second-half surge from the Red Hawks to take the victory.
Lindsey Wilson jumped to a 15-point first-quarter lead. Ultimately, the Blue Raiders closed out the first 10 minutes with a 24-9 lead after hitting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) of their shots.
The Blue Raiders extended their lead to 24 (42-18) to close out the half. Lindsey Wilson finished the half shooting 54 percent (13-24) from the field.
Martin Methodist (3-1) managed to chip away at the Lindsey Wilson lead in the second half. The Red Hawks outscored the Blue Raiders 45-36 however that was not enough of a push to claim the victory.
The Blue Raiders ended the game shooting 46 percent (23-of-50) from the floor after only shooting 38.4 percent (10-26) of their shots. Lindsey Wilson finished the night shooting 68.3 percent (28-41) from the foul line.
Three Blue Raiders ended the game with double-digit points. Reagan Turner led the team with 18 points. Jynea Harris was close behind with 17 points as Heidi Huffman scored 10 to round out the three. Gerda Paulauskaite recorded a career-high 17 rebounds in the game.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 14, as the Blue Raiders host Brescia (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center.
