BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team finished fifth today at the at the Mid-South Conference Championship at Phil Moore Park.
Levi Owens led the Blue Raiders with a 13th-place finish -- good enough to earn a spot on the All Mid-South Conference second team.
Lindsey Wilson tallied 110 team points during the one-day event. Shawnee State (Ohio) won the team championship with 29 points while Campbellsville (Ky.) finished second with 55 points.
Owens ran the 8,000 meters 26 minutes and 39 seconds. He shaved 17 seconds off his time at last season's championships. The second-team all-conference honor is the second straight for Owens.
Jim Headrick finished 23rd in the 74-man race with a time of 27:21 while Jordan Tucker crossed the finish line in 27:24 to post a 26th-place finish. Jonathan Long ended in 33rd, Trajon Hall 34th, Austin Mattingly 43rd and Mason Stogsdill finished 48th to complete the Blue Raider finishers.
Shawnee State's Seth Farmer won the individual title and MSC Runner of the Year with a time of 25:24.
The Bears and the top four individuals not on the winning team earns a berth into the NAIA National Championships on Nov. 17 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
