Women's Golf finishes fifth at UNOH Spring Invitational

SUWANEE, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team finished in fifth place at the University of Northwestern Ohio Spring Invitational held at Bear's Best Atlanta on Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders finished with a two-day total 683 (340-343), slipping two spots down the leaderboard after sitting in third place following the first round of play on Monday.

No. 21 Lindsey Wilson finished four strokes behind Tennessee Wesleyan and three strokes ahead of sixth-place Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). No. 6-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) won the tournament with a 631 across the two-day event. No. 20 Loyola-New Orleans (La.) finished second at 668, followed by No. 9 Northwestern Ohio at 669.

Dacie Bolton charged up the leaderboard during the final round, moving up 13 spots from her day one placement to finish tied for fifth place in the final individual standings. She followed her 85 in the first round with an 80 on the second day to finish with a 165 in a four-way tie for fifth place.

Courtney Vincent shot a 170 (82-88) across the two days to finish tied for 19th. Tara Rodenhurst finished one stroke behind Vincent with a 171 (83-88) to tie for 23rd.

Shayna Cockrill shaved three strokes off her opening round total to finish at 177 (90-87), while Megan Kriz made a four-stroke improvement to finish in 38th place with her 182 (93-89) in the field of 55.

Cumberlands' Kaitlyn Riley won the event after finishing 4-over par with a 148 (73-75), seven strokes better than second place.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 9-10 as the Blue Raiders host the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament at Dale Hollow State Park in Burkesville, Kentucky.
