Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- No. 6 Lindsey Wilson men's tennis returned after a 13-day layout to beat visiting Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) 8-1 today at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
Lindsey Wilson (4-0) won all three doubles points and five of the six singles matches to remain unbeaten on the season.
Denis Porcic and Camilo Erazo posted the first win of the afternoon with an 8-1 win over Juan Pablo Herrera and Horacio Callirgos in the top doubles match.
Edberg Espinoza and Steven Espinoza put the Blue Raiders in front 2-0 following an 8-4 win over Chirag Dahiya and Fran Retamal Diaz in the third-seeded match.
Ivan Solans Diaz and Javier Raya made it a clean sweep in doubles with an 8-3 win over Lucas Roman and Dennis Sanchez in the third-seeded match.
The sweep marks the first time this season the Blue Raiders entered singles play with a 3-0 lead.
Erazo led off the singles play for the Blue Raiders with a win at the second-seeded match. He secured Lindsey Wilson's fourth point of the day after Callirgos was forced to retire in the second set. Erazo was up 6-1, 4-0 when Callirgos retired.
Porcic posted the team-winning point in the top-ranked match. He defeated Herrera 6-3, 6-1 to give Lindsey Wilson the 5-0 lead over the Lynx (7-3).
Edberg Espinoza, Raya, and Diaz all recorded wins in singles play en route to the 8-1 win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at Noon CT on Monday, March 26, as the Blue Raiders host Union (Ky.) at Baughman Tennis Complex.
