Women's Basketball falls 90-78 to Campbellsville in MSC Tournament Semifinals

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's basketball's hopes of winning a Mid-South Conference Tournament title ended today with a 90-78 loss to Campbellsville (Ky.) in the tournament semifinals at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

The Blue Raiders (25-7) await an at-large bid into the NAIA National Tournament. The national tournament field will be announced at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 7.

Third-seeded Lindsey Wilson struggled defensively throughout the game as the Tigers (28-4) shot 52.1 percent (37-of-71) from the field, including scoring 52 points in the paint.

The 90 points are the most allowed by the Blue Raiders this season.

Second-seeded Campbellsville broke the game open in the last six minutes of the first quarter, out-scoring Lindsey Wilson 19-3 to take a 28-12 advantage after the first 10 minutes. The Tigers extended the lead to as many as 30 points in the second quarter before taking a 52-24 lead into the locker room.

The Blue Raiders shot just 31 percent in the first half while Campbellsville tallied 52.5 percent (21-of-40) in the opening half. Jordan Doram led the Tigers scoring 22 of her season-high 26 points in the first half.

Lindsey Wilson showed some fight in the second half, trimming the deficit to 12 at the final buzzer.

The Blue Raiders outscored the Tigers 54-38 in the second half.

Kayla Styles scored 37 of her game-high 43 points after the halftime break. Lindsey Wilson made 21-of-28 shots (75 percent) in the second half.

Reagan Turner added 15 points for the Blue Raiders.
