COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team finished 11th at the 2018 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships held at the Columbus Aquatic Center.
As a team the Blue Raiders racked up 131 points which was just three points behind 10th-place Union (Ky.).
A pair of Blue Raiders finished in the top-10 of the 200-yard backstroke. Clemens Paetzold finished ninth while Paul Pavala placed 10th. Paetzold touched the wall in 1:53.28 earning nine team points. Pavala finished in 1:53.55 earning seven team points.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Zachary Patzer, Jonas Mueller, Jose Prado de Lima and Paetzold finished 11th with a time of 3:09.36 to earn 12 points. Manny Griego picked up five team points in the 1,650 freestyle with a 12th-place finish.
Mueller finished 12th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.03 which was 2.85 seconds faster than his prelim time. Hayden Krause finished 15th in the event finishing in 2:09.34. Patzer finished 19th in the 100 free while Pavala placed 19th in the 200 fly.
Keiser (Fla.) won the team title with 653.5 points. SCAD Savannah (Ga.) finished runner-up with 485.5 points while Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) placed third with 481.5 total team points.
