Box Score

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The top-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team advanced to Sunday's Mid-South Conference Tournament finals with a 5-1 win today over fourth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) at the Warren East Tennis Courts.

The Blue Raiders (13-0) face second-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.) at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday. The Phoenix (20-2) defeated third-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) 5-1 in the other semifinal.

Lindsey Wilson won two of the three doubles points, but it was not easy against the No. 9-ranked Tigers (13-6).

Campbellsville grabbed the first point of the match with an 8-3 win in the second-seeded doubles match. Chrys Castro and Adrian Sabrojo claimed what turned out to be the lone Tiger point with the win over Ivan Solans Diaz and Javier Raya.

Lindsey Wilson tied the match at 1-1 as Steven Espinoza and Edberg Espinoza posted a 9-7 come-from-behind victory. The Blue Raider duo trailed Blayze O'keefe and Martin Munoz 6-3 before winning six of the final seven games to even the match.

The Blue Raiders top doubles team of Camilo Erazo and Denis Porcic -- ranked No. 6 in the NAIA -- looked to be cruising in their match with Pablo Alonso Munoz and Alejandro Reyes. Erazo and Porcic led 6-3 before the Campbellsville tandem pulled even and forced a tiebreak.

Erazo and Porcic dominated the extra frame, winning the first three points of the tiebreak en route to the 7-3 win and a 2-1 team advantage entering singles play.

Lindsey Wilson won all three completed singles matches to take the semifinals 5-1.

Porcic -- ranked fifth in the NAIA -- breezed to a 6-4, 6-1 win over No. 11-ranked Alejandro Reyes in the top singles match for a 3-1 Blue Raider lead. The MSC Men's Tennis Player of the Year improves to 12-1 this season with the win.

Erazo put the Blue Raiders on the verge of the team win with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Castro in the second-seeded match. Moments later, Edberg Espinoza closed out the semifinal win with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over O'keefe.

The remaining matches were stopped once the Blue Raiders reached the five team points.

Lindsey Wilson faces Cumberland at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday, April 22, in the MSC Tournament Finals at Warren East Tennis Courts.
