GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team continued Mid-South Conference play on Thursday night with a 66-52 road victory over Georgetown (Ky.) at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym. LWC shot 64.3 percent from the floor in the first half of action to build a commanding lead at the break as they were 18-of-28 from the field including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The Blue Raiders (11-4, 2-0 MSC) took advantage of Georgetown (15-2, 0-2 MSC) forcing 20 turnovers while also outrebounding the Tigers 39-34.

Lindsey Wilson shot 40.7 percent from the field while holding Georgetown to 37.3 percent after they connected on just 19-of-51 shots.

Reagan Turner led the offensive effort with a game-high 17 points with three other Blue Raiders also tallied double-digit points. Jynea Harris managed 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists, with Heidi Huffman scoring 12. J'Nayah Hall rounded out the Blue Raiders in double-digits points with 10 as well six rebounds of her own. Both Gerda Paulauskaite and Molly Stone tallied a game-high nine rebounds apiece.

Lindsey Wilson jumped out to an early 9-4 lead in the game but Georgetown was able to take their first lead of the game at 11-9 with 4:12 to play in the quarter. The Blue Raiders were able to outscore the Tigers 13-4 over the final minutes as Lindsey Wilson's defense imposed their will on Georgetown, who would not score another basket from the floor in the quarter.

LWC managed to cause three turnovers, one steal, as Georgetown went 0-of-3 from the field to close out the first ten minutes of action.

Lindsey Wilson opened the second quarter with four points before Georgetown could answer with two of their own. LWC managed to pull away early in the quarter but the Tigers fought back pulling it to within eight points. However, the Blue Raiders stood their ground defensively allowing only one basket to go on a 17-2 run that included three consecutive three-pointers to finish the half with a 51-28 lead.

In the third quarter, the Blue Raiders would take their biggest lead of 30 points after fighting off the Tigers' attempts at clawing their way back. Georgetown could only connect on three shots for six points making the score 62-34 at the end of the third quarter.

Lindsey Wilson began to slow down in the final stanza as they managed to only connect on 2-of-15 shot attempts for four points in the final quarter. Georgetown knocked the lead down to 14 but ultimately ran out of time.

The Blue Raiders finished the game allowing only one Georgetown player to score double-digits. Madison Darnell tallied 12 points and finished the night with five rebounds to lead the team.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday as they take on MSC rival No. 7-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) at 1 p.m. CT in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
