COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Pikeville (Ky.) 76-68 on Saturday afternoon in Mid-South Conference action at Biggers Sports Center. Reagan Turner scored when the Blue Raiders needed her most, dropping a career-high for the third straight game after putting up 32 points.

Lindsey Wilson (12-6, 3-2 MSC) was efficient from the field connecting on 44.6 percent of their shots as Pikeville (14-7, 3-2 MSC) managed to shoot 42.6 percent for the game. Both squads managed to grab 38 boards as LWC tallied 11 steals and forced Pikeville into 18 turnovers.

Turner finished the game shooting 13-of-19 from the field, adding five rebounds, four assists and two steals. J'Nayah Hall finished the game with 14 points as Jynea Harris added 12. Molly Stone recorded a team-high 10 rebounds.

Three difference Blue Raiders scored over the first four minutes of action as Hall opened the game scoring LWC's first four points as Lindsey Wilson would lead 11-7 early. Paulauskaite dominated the defensive end over the span after starting the game with three blocks, two coming on back-to-back Pikeville possessions.

Turner then found her offensive rhythm, scoring 10 of the Blue Raiders next 11 points of the contest, giving LWC a 22-11 lead with 2:10 to play. Lindsey Wilson would take a 28-13 advantage after 10 minutes of action after LWC managed to outscore the Bears 21-6 over the final 6:55 of the first quarter. The Blue Raiders shot an impressive 78.6 percent from the floor in the quarter.

Lindsey Wilson struggle from the field in the second quarter after connecting on just 3-of-19 attempts from the field and just 1-of-6 attempts from deep.

Pikeville challenged the Blue Raiders over the first three minutes as they were able limit LWC to just two points, cutting the LWC lead to 30-21. Heidi Huffman broke the Lindsey Wilson scoring drought after connecting from beyond the arc as Turner then forced a steal and an easy layup at the other end to push the Blue Raider lead to 14 with 6:24 to play in the quarter.

The Bears again fought back, trimming the Blue Raider lead to six points at 35-29 with just over three minutes to play as LWC would lead 38-32 at the break.

Lindsey Wilson recorded five blocks in the first half and shot 45.5 percent from the floor while limiting the bears to a 37.1 shooting percentage. Shawnee State finished the half with a slight 21-20 rebounding advantage while both squads managed 22 points in the paint.

Pikeville opened the second half with a pair of three's to cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to two points and would tie the game moments later at 42 with 7:08 on the clock. The Bears would take their first lead of the game at 46-44, but it was short lived as Turner managed to score her tenth points of quarter to regain an LWC advantage at 50-46 with 3:33 to play.

Turner continued her strong offensive performance in the quarter scoring LWC's final six points as Lindsey Wilson would lead 56-50 with ten minutes to play.

After exchanging baskets over the first three minutes, Lindsey Wilson managed to extend their lead to 10, 70-60, with just under three minutes to play in regulation on a Hall layup. Pikeville battled back, scoring five straight points over the next 46 seconds to cut into the LWC lead.

Leading 72-67 with just under a minute to play Pikeville went to the line making 1-of-2 attempts. Turner was then fouled with 11.3 seconds on the clock, knocking down both of her attempts to give the Blue Raiders a 74-68 advantage. Pikeville missed on a deep three before fouling Oldham who was able to put the game away at the line.

Brianna Burbridge recorded a double-double for Pikeville with 28 points and 14 rebounds.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Thursday when they take on Cumberlands (Ky.) at 6 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
