Turner, Hall leads Women's Basketball to a road win at Life

Box Score

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Reagan Turner scored 30 points and J'Nayah Hall posted a double-double to lead No. 21-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball to an 81-71 win over host Life (Ga.) today at The Eagles' Nest.

Lindsey Wilson (14-6, 5-2 in the Mid-South Conference) led wire-to-wire while shooting 49.1 percent (26-of-53) from the field. While the offense was clicking, the defense limited the Running Eagles (12-7, 2-5) to just 37.3 percent (28-of-75) from the floor.

The Blue Raiders also enjoyed a hefty advantage on the boards, outrebounding their hosts 48-33.

Hall aided in the advantage with a career-high 16 boards. Not to be outdone by her hustle on the glass, Hall poured in a career-best 26 points on 11-of-20 shooting.

Lindsey Wilson shot 53.6 percent from the field in the opening half to take a 41-35 lead into the break. Life made a pair of runs at Lindsey Wilson in the second half -- each time cutting the deficit to four points. The Blue Raiders assisted in the comebacks, committing 29 turnovers in the game.

Leading 43-39 early in the third quarter, Lindsey Wilson used an 11-2 run over a five-minute span to grab its biggest lead of the game at 54-41. Turner scored nine of the 11 points in the run en route to her second 30-point effort in her last three games. She recorded a career-high 32 last Saturday in a win over Pikeville (Ky.).

Life methodically cut into the Lindsey Wilson lead, trailing 59-52 entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles kept creeping closer in the early stages of the final quarter -- cutting the Lindsey Wilson lead to four (61-57) once again with just under seven minutes remaining in regulation.

But Lindsey Wilson used a 12-4 run to push the lead back to double-digits with just over two minutes left. Heidi Huffman scored five of her 11 points and Hall chipped in four during the spurt to give the Blue Raiders some breathing room.

The Eagles managed to climb within singles digits just once over the final two minutes as Lindsey Wilson moved into second place in the MSC with the win and coupled with a Shawnee State (Ohio) loss.

Rose Mary Jackson added her name to the list of Blue Raiders who reached double figures. After posting a career-high 10 points in Thursday night's win over Cumberlands (Ky.) she matched her effort from two nights ago with another 10-point performance today.

A trio of Eagles scored in double figures led by Tierra Tullis' 12 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 28, as the Blue Raiders step outside of the MSC to host Wilberforce (Ohio) at Biggers Sports Center.
