Box Score

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson women's basketball closed out it pre-Mid-South Conference schedule tonight with an 88-54 loss to Thomas More (Ky.) at the Connor Convocation Center.

Jynea Harris scored a career-high 18 points on a night where the No. 18-ranked Blue Raiders (9-4) struggled on both ends of the court. Reagan Turner added 16 points to join Harris in double figures.

Lindsey Wilson finished the game shooting just 29.5 percent (18-of-61) from the floor -- the second-worst shooting performance of the season for the Blue Raiders.

Thomas More -- ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III -- countered by shooting 62.5 percent (35-of-56) from the field, including hitting seven of 16 threes. The Saints shooting performance comes against a Lindsey Wilson defense that entered the game holding its opponents to 33.5 percent shooting -- ninth best in the NAIA -- while allowing just 57.6 points per game.

The Saints -- who transition to the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference beginning next season -- improve to 20-0 with the win.

After trailing 22-14 at the end of the first quarter, Lindsey Wilson scored four straight to climb within four in the first minute of the second frame. Following a Saints basket, J'Naya Hall buried a three-pointer to inch the Blue Raiders within three (24-21) with 8:37 left in the second. That is as close as Lindsey Wilson would get.

The Blue Raiders did not score again after the Hall basket until Regan Turner connected on a pair of free throws with 3:02 left in the half. The Saints in the meantime, scored 14 straight points to build a 38-21 lead. Thomas More extended the lead to as many as 18 before the Blue Raiders cut the deficit to 43-28 at the break.

Lindsey Wilson closed within 12 points (51-39) early in the third quarter, but the Saints used another significant run -- this time an 18-4 spurt -- to take a 69-43 lead with 2:05 left in the period. Thomas More extended its lead to 34 on two different occasions in the fourth quarter en route to the 88-54 win.

Madison Temple led the Saints with 26 points -- on 10-of-13 shooting -- and 10 assists. Shelby Rupp chipped in 20 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 5, as the Blue Raiders travel to Cumberland (Tenn.) to begin MSC play in Lebanon, Tennessee.
