COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 173-73 and Union (Ky.) 157-100 on Saturday in Campbellsville. The Blue Raiders recorded two national A-cut standard times and four B standard times while claiming first place in 10 of 14 events.
William Thilwind, Ron Wolfart, Reece Kincaid, and Bryce Rice recorded the first A-cut standard of the day in the 200-meter medley relay with a time of one minute and 52.13 seconds. The second A-cut came when Tyler King, Jordan Schaeffer, Ricky Dungan, and James de Goede touched the wall at 1:41.90 in the 200-meter freestyle relay.
The first individual victory for the Blue Raiders came when Thilwind finished the 100-meter backstroke at 1:01.87, which was good enough for a B-cut. Wolfart was the second individual champion in the 100-meter breaststroke with a finishing time of 1:10.10.
Kincaid notched an individual first place finish for the Blue Raiders in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:18.94. De Goede was victorious in both the 50-meter freestyle with a finishing time of 25.49, and the 100 meter freestyle with a B-cut standard time of 55.77.
Thilwind added another Lindsey Wilson B-cut time with a first place finish in the 200-meter backstroke touching the wall at 2:15.14. Dungan would add another first place finish in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:37.41. Kincaid tallied another Blue Raider B-cut and a second place finish in the 100-meter butterfly touching the wall at 1:00.91. Kincaid notched the final first place finish in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:18.96.
Other notable finishes for Lindsey Wilson included Dungan and Michael Peck finishing second and third respectively in the 1,500-meter freestyle, King notching a second place finish in the 100-meter freestyle, Peck collecting a second place finish in the 400-meter freestyle, and Wolfart adding second place finishes in the 200-meter breaststroke and 200-meter individual medley.
The Blue Raiders return to the pool on November 9th where they will face Thomas More (Ky.) at noon CT at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
