Men's Swimming Defeats Thomas More & Bethel on Saturday

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team defeated Thomas More (Ky.) 151-20 and Bethel (Tenn.) 140-34 on Saturday at the Holloway Center Natatorium. The Blue Raiders recorded two national A-cut standard times and six B standard times while claiming first place in 10 of 11 events.

William Thilwind, Ron Wolfart, Jordan Schaeffer, and Bryce Rice recorded the first A-cut standard of the day in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of three minutes and 43.99 seconds.

The first individual victory for the Blue Raiders came when Ricky Dungan touched the wall in the 1000-yard freestyle at a time of 10:39.16. Tyler King added another first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:51.90, with Michael Peck finishing in second.

Reece Kincaid notched an individual first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a B-cut time of 1:59.80, with Wolfart trailing behind with another B-cut second place finishing time of 2:02.38. Dungan went on to add another individual first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a finishing time of 2:16.41, with Connor Barton finishing in second with a time of 2:18.48.

The Blue Raiders continued their dominant day with James de Goede garnering a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a B-cut standard time of 49.49. Thilwind won the 200-yard backstroke with a B-cut time of 2:00.59, with Peck and King finishing in second and third respectively. Kincaid finished the 500-yard freestyle with a B standard first-place time of 4:55.93.

Wolfart was victorious in the 200-yard breaststroke with a B-cut time of 2:16.24, while Rice added a second-place finish in the race. In the final race of the day, King, Dungan, Kincaid, and de Goede tallied a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with an A-cut time of 3:20.19.

The Blue Raiders return to the pool on November 16th where they will face Hanover (Ind.) at noon CT in Hanover, Indiana.
