Kingsport, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team finished fifth at the Mid-South Conference Swimming Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee.
The Blue Raiders earned 413 points over the three-day competition, tallying six A-cut standards and two B-cut standards on the last night of competition. Cumberlands (Ky.) took first-place for the women's championship earning 745.5 points.
Jessica Macdonald led the women's side after notching another first-place finish, earning first- team all-conference honors in the 100 freestyle in 52.33 seconds.
Sloane Smith earned an A-cut standard and a fourth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in the time of 2:31.2. Sarah Hahn notched an A-cut standard in the 200 backstroke in 2:14.43.
Emma Phillips and Emily Wood each earned A-cut standards in the 1,650 freestyle, with Phillips finishing in 18:57.86 and Wood coming in at 18:58.74.
Carlene Taylor and Bailey Seitz both earned B-cut standards in the 100 freestyle, with Taylor finishing at 56.25 seconds and Seitz finishing at 56.17 seconds.
Taylor, Smith, Seitz and Macdonald notched a second-place finish and an A-cut standard, earning second-team all-conference honors in the 400 freestyle relay in the time of 3:39.11.
The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team is back in action on February 27 through March 2 at the NAIA National Swimming Championships in Columbus, Georgia.
