Men's Tennis cruises at Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. -- No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis won for the second straight time on the road today with a 7-2 win at Martin Methodist (Tenn.).

Lindsey Wilson won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead entering singles play.

Santiago Diaz and Xavier Vicent routed Jurgen Hildmann and Brad Prada 8-0 in the second-seeded doubles match. Tiago Almeida and Javier Raya followed with an 8-3 win over Eduardo Costa and Anh Hoang in the third-seeded match.

Martin Methodist salvaged a point in the top-seeded match, as Jesus Quesada and Federico Gomez outlasted Camilo Erazo and Nicolas Torrealba 9-7.

Lindsey Wilson won five of the six singles matches.

Erazo -- ranked No. 23 in the NAIA -- claimed the first singles win after Quesada retired following the first game of the first set.

Gomez won the only singles point for the RedHawks with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Almeida in the second-seeded match.

Vicent and Torrealba won back-to-back matches in the third and fourth-seeded matches to push the Blue Raiders to the five team points necessary for the win.

Vicent defeated Costa 6-0, 6-4 followed by Torrealba's 6-1, 6-1 win over Hildmann.

Diaz and Steven Espinoza added superset wins to give Lindsey Wilson the 7-2 victory.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Monday, March 25, as the Blue Raiders host No. 10 Campbellsville (Ky.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
