Men's Tennis cruises into MSC Tournament semifinals with a 5-0 win over Shawnee State

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Second-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's tennis did not drop a game in the matches completed against seventh-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio) today at the Mid-South Conference Tournament played at the Western Kentucky Tennis Courts.

The Blue Raiders (8-6) advance to the semifinals to face third-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) at 7 p.m. CT on Friday in Owensboro, Ky. Campbellsville beat sixth-seeded Pikeville 5-0 today in another first-round match.

Lindsey Wilson won all three of its doubles matches 8-0.

Tiago Almeida and Nicolas Garcia claimed the first point of the match with a win over Niko Richards and Samuel Hall in the third-seeded match. Camilo Erazo and Javier Raya followed winning the top-seeded match over Austin Hanshaw and Jacob Freeland while Steven Espinoza and Xavier Vicent completed the doubles sweep with a win over Zach Colley and Zack Fox in the second-seeded match.

In singles, Garcia and Almeida picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins to close out the match.

The rest of the Blue Raiders were all leading when the remainder of the matches were halted once Lindsey Wilson clinched the fifth win.

Due to the weather forecast in Bowling Green, Friday's matches have been moved indoors at the Owensboro Tennis Complex.

First serve for the Lindsey Wilson-Campbellsville match is slated for 7 p.m. CT on Friday.
