BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team tied for third-place at the Mid-South Conference Golf Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Bowling Green Country Club.
The Blue Raiders shot a three-day total of 973 (323-335-315) during the 54 hole tournament. Lindsey Wilson finished 19 strokes back from second place Pikeville (Ky.).
Cumberlands (Ky.) took home the team-conference title with a three-day score of 939. Pikeville took second place with a score of 959. Carlee Shoemaker took home medalist honors for the MSC tournament finishing 11-over par.
Immediately following the conclusion of the round, the all-conference awards were announced. The all-conference teams were selected based on the three conference tournaments, the Fall, Spring, and MSC Championships scoring averages. To be considered for the conference honor an individual had to compete during four of the six conference rounds.
Tara Rodenhurst, Dacie Bolton, Bo Young Park and Courtney Vincent all took home second-team all-conference honors.
Rodenhurst finished tied for seventh with a score of 240 (78-83-79) over the three rounds. Rodenhurst shot her second best score of competition at a 79 with a single birdie on the second hole, while struggling late on the back nine posting three bogeys on the final three holes.
Vincent posted a final score of 240 (82-81-77) to tie for seventh-place. Vincent achieved her best round with a 77 on Wednesday afternoon.
Bolton finished tied for 10th with a final score of 243 (83-87-73). Bolton posted four birdies on the last round to finish even for the tournament and giving the Blue Raiders the best score of the tournament at 73.
Park tied for 18th posting a score of 250 (80-84-86) for Lindsey Wilson.
Pikeville's (Ky.) Ellen Kehoe earned MSC Player of the Year award as Pilar Scenna of Cumberland (Tenn.) was named the Freshman of the Year.
The Blue Raiders now wait for an at-large bid into the NAIA National Championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma that is scheduled to be released May 2. The national championship will take place May 14-17.
