COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's swim team defeated Campbellsville (Ky.) 175-63 and Thomas More (Ky.) 191-12 on Saturday afternoon at the Holloway Natatorium.
In his first competition as a Blue Raider Calvin Coetzee broke the program record in the 200-yard freestyle. His A cut time of 1:40.05 was enough for first place and broke Iker Larzabal's time of 1:41.57 set during the 2017 season. Coetzee added his second A standard in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.71 seconds. Coetzee closed out his day with a first place, A cut finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.86.
Lindsey Wilson took first and second place in the 400-yard medley relay as both notched A standards. William Thilwind, Bryce Rice, Reece Kincaid and Tyler King touched the wall in 3:42.06 as the paring of Michael Peck, Ron Wolfart, Jordan Schaffer and Joshua Seltz finished in 3:47.05.
Coetzee, King, de Goede and Wolfart paired up in the 200-yard freestyle relay for a first-place finish and an A-cut time of 1:29.57.
Kincaid took three first-place finishes on the day. He clocked an A cut time of 2:00.78 during the 200-yard butterfly and added a B cut time of 53.23 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. His time of 2:04.23 in the 200-yard IM gave him his final individual first-place finish.
Thilwind took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a B cut time of 55.16 seconds. He added his second first-place finish of the day in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.25.
Wolfart touched the wall in first of the 100-yard breaststroke, doing so in 1:00.88. He added another first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.64
James de Geode recorded the fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.88 seconds.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the pool on Feb. 6-8 when they compete at the Mid-South Conference Championship at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
