LEBANON, Tenn. – The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team managed to survive all of Cumberland's (Tenn.) surges, taking down the Phoenix on the road by a final of 76-67.

In what was a battle all night, the Blue Raiders ended up pulling away early in the fourth quarter and never looked back. The contest featured five ties and 12 lead changes, most of which happened throughout the third quarter.

Reagan Turner led all scorers with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Jynea Harris managed 20 points and nine rebounds to just miss out on a double-double. DeAsia Outlaw and J'Nayah Hall finished with 12 points.

Lindsey Wilson (13-3, 2-1 MSC) shot 44.4 percent from the field as they allowed Cumberland (5-9, 0-4 MSC) to shoot an even 50 percent from the floor. The mark is the highest shooting percentage by an LWC opponent this season. Cumberland held a slight 29-27 advantage on the glass.

The Blue Raider opened the contest on a 7-0 run thanks to three's by Turner and Harris but Cumberland weathered the storm, taking a 10-9 lead after a 10-2 run. LWC closed out the quarter on a 13-4 run.

Leading 22-14 entering the second quarter the Blue Raiders pushed their lead to as many as 12 points two times. The Phoenix kept battling as they trimmed the LWC advantage to just one point with 46 seconds to play in the half. Cumberland closed the half on a 16-6 run over the final 6:12 of play to trail the Blue Raiders 38-36 at the break.

Lindsey Wilson went cold from the field, as they made their first field goal since the 5:46 mark of the second quarter on a Turner basket at 6:56 of the third to tie the game at 41-41. In a back-and-forth battle the rest of the way it was Cumberland's hot three-point shooting late in the quarter that gave them a 57-54 lead with 10 minutes to play.

A 12-3 run to open the final quarter afforded LWC some breathing room as they led 66-60 with five minutes to play. The Blue Raiders closed out the winning effort going a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe to win 76-67.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Thursday when they welcome No. 7-ranked Shawnee State (Ohio) to the confines of Biggers Sports Center at 6 p.m. CT.
