CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team was defeated by No. 3-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) 92-74 on Saturday afternoon on the road at the Powell Athletic Center. The loss marks the eighth straight time the Blue Raiders have lost to the Lady Tigers.

Lindsey Wilson eclipsed its season-high total for turnovers at 27 in the loss. LWC managed to shoot 49 percent from the floor on 27-of-55 shooting, while CU executed 50 percent shooting on 32-of-64 shooting.

Reagan Turner led the Blue Raiders with 22 points, while J'Nayah Hall chipped in her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Maleigha Oldham added 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the three-point line.

For Campbellsville, Madison Faulkner controlled the offensive end of the floor, scoring 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting while grabbing nine rebounds. Savannah Gregory added 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field.

A slow start in the first quarter proved to plague the Blue Raiders, as six early turnovers against the Campbellsville pressing defense propelled the Lady Tigers to an early 12-0 lead. Campbellsville continued to keep their foot on the pedal, as the score read 22-3 with just under four minutes remaining. The first quarter ended with the Lady Tigers up 31-9 in front of the home crowd. Lindsey Wilson committed 12 turnovers in the quarter and shot just 20 percent from the field.

The second quarter began with Campbellsville continuing to turn up the heat on both ends of the floor. The Lady Tigers clawed their way to a comfortable 28 point lead with less than four minutes remaining in the quarter. Lindsey Wilson ignited a spark at the end of the half going 5-of-5 from the field but trailed 55-35 going into the halftime locker room. Turner led the Blue Raiders going into the half with nine points.

The third quarter began with both teams answering each other on the offensive end of the floor, preventing either squad from shifting the pace of the game. Lindsey Wilson successfully trimmed the deficit to 16 at the under three-minute mark, but the Lady Tigers managed to continue the stalemate as the quarter hit the finishing stages to hold a 69-53 lead going into the final quarter of play.

Campbellsville controlled the fourth quarter from start to finish, locking up the 92-74 victory. The loss moves Lindsey Wilson to second place in the Mid-South Conference standings and keeps Campbellsville in sole possession of first.

The Blue Raiders return to action Feb. 20 to take on Georgetown (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
