Archery closes regional competition on Saturday, prepares for Mid-South Championship on Sunday

RESULTS

MADISONVILLE, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson archery produced 17 individual top-10 finishes during the Indoor Regional Championships over the last two days.

Twenty-seven Blue Raiders earned a spot in the elimination round of the Mid-South Conference Indoor Championships which takes place on Sunday in Madisonville.

T. Sanchez and Taylor Bell each finished second in their respective shoots on Friday and Saturday for the Blue Raider men while Casie Metcalf added a runner-up finish in the women's recurve.

Sanchez posted a score of 1,049 over 120 arrows to finish just behind Pikeville's (Ky.) Aric Clements' 1,082 in the men's recurve. Sanchez recorded 33 10s and 54 9s over the two days. Sanchez will be the No. 2 in the men's recurve elimination round on Sunday.

Gabriel Crenshaw finished fourth in the men's recurve with a score of 972.

Bell added a second in the men's bowhunter with a score of 1,185. Union's (Ky.) Morgan Vaughn finished just in front of Bell with 1,196.

Three other Blue Raiders qualified for the knockout stage on Sunday. Evan Mahanna (1,169) finished ninth, Dylan Hamilton (1,143) ended in 16th, and Chandler Wisdom (1,125) finished in 17th.

In the men's compound, Ethan Johnson finished third and Austin Taylor fourth with 1,184 points and 1,182 points, respectively. Lindsey Wilson men added a pair of top 10s in the men's barebow. Hunter Current (736) posted a seventh-place finish while Cameron Curran (690) ended in ninth.

On the women's side, Metcalf posted a score of 1,050 in the women's recurve using her 120 arrows. She tallied 39 10s and 32 9s during the two days. Metcalfe finished second to Cumberlands' (Ky.) Miranda Lauria's 1,072.

Metcalf is one of four Blue Raiders in the top eight. Savannah Gould (939) finished third, Madison Loveless (935) ended in fourth, and Olivia Harner (882) finished eighth.

Courtney Blevens led eight Blue Raiders to reach Sunday's knockout stage in the women's bowhunter. She finished fifth with a score of 1,163 -- just 14 points off the top score. Caitlin Beard (1,131) added a ninth-place finish in the bowhunter.

Britney McCarthy (fourth) and Casey Stickfort (seventh) posted top-10 finishes in the women's barebow while Abigail Kaysinger ended in sixth place in the women's compound.

In addition to the individual shoots on Sunday in the conference championship, Lindsey Wilson will send 13 teams to the line to shoot in the team competitions.

The Mid-South Conference Championship is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday in Madisonville.
