MIDWAY, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swim team defeated Midway (Ky.) in road action on Saturday with a 137-40 result. LWC took first place in 10-of-11 races.
Maaike Broersma once again picked up three NAIA Provision Standards on the afternoon, doing so in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 backstroke, and the 200 medley relay. She took first place in all three races with times of twenty-five seconds, 59.61 seconds, and 1:52.38, respectively. Allie Rutherford, Natascha Evrinoff, and Carlene Taylor also pick up the provisional standard as members of the 200 medley relay.
In addition to the relay standard Evrinoff also added a provision standard after taking first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.93.
Avery Herring took first place in the 1,000 freestyle with a mark of 11:45.52 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:39.63. Rutherford added to her wins on the day after taking the 200 individual medley touching the wall with a time of 2:23.24.
Taylor tallied her second first-place finish in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 56.34 while Annissa Koekemoer, Karolina Bidnik, Caitlin Higdon, and Savannah Schoeman all took first place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:57.85.
Women's Swimming continues their season with a trip to Barbourville, Ky. on November 6th to take on Union (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.). The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
