BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Malene Clausen chipped in for eagle from 40-yards out on the final hole of the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament on Tuesday pushing the Blue Raiders to the team title by one stroke after carding a 951 (316-322-313).
As the final pairing made their way to No. 18, the Blue Raiders trailed Campbellsville (Ky.) by one stroke. Clausen's two-under-par score on the 477-yard, par-5 final hole was enough to edge out the Tigers who finished the event in second with a 952 (317-319-316).
Clausen played her best golf of the season during the two-day event as she also won the individual title by six strokes. She finished the event just six over with a 222 (76-72-74). She dominated the par-5's and par-4's all week finishing a best, one-under-par on the five-stroke holes and a five-over-par mark on par-4's. She added the fourth-best mark on par-3's with a two-over-par mark.
The event was held at Bowling Green Country Club, a par-72, 5,811-yard design. The field featured all MSC programs – 11 teams in total – while the individual field saw competition from 59 student-athletes.
Zofia Wojcik claimed 13th place finishing with a 242 (80-84-78). She finished playing the par-4's the fourth-best in the field while adding a four-over mark on the par-5's for the 10th best scoring average.
Megan Mann and Katie Biddlecombe finished the event in a tie for 18th place. Mann produced a 247 (82-85-80) while Biddlecombe produced a similar 247 (78-88-81). Hannah Sumner took home 27th place, finishing with a 254 (90-81-83).
Claire McLaughlin and Lauren Holeman competed as individuals at the event finished in 16th with a 245 (81-79-85) and 29th with a 256 (82-88-86), respectively.
Lindsey Wilson racked up 122 pars for the event while adding the second most birdies with 19 and the only eagle of the tournament. As a team, the Blue Raiders produced the best scoring averages on par-5's and par-4's with a stroke average of 5.35 and 4.52, respectively.
The Blue Raiders now break for winter before returning to play in the spring.
