COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team shot nearly 50 percent from the floor on Tuesday evening at Biggers Sports Center to open their home schedule with a 91-64 win over Berea (Ky.). The victory marks the Blue Raiders second double-digit win in as many games to open the season.

Lindsey Wilson shot a season-high 48.5 percent from the floor and were just slightly less efficient from three, finishing 11-of-25 from beyond the arc. The LWC defensive effort matched their offensive production, limiting the Mountaineers to a 30.6 shooting percentage and a 5-of-17 mark from deep.

The Blue Raiders made use of 10 steals and 16 Berea turnovers in the game. The defensive pressure resulted in 21 transitional points for Lindsey Wilson.

Amerah Steele had a career-high 21 adding six rebounds and two assists. Amelia Hodges and Maleigha Oldham each finished with 14 points as Oldham added a team-high eight boards. Hailey Ison was the final Blue Raider in double figures, finishing with 12 points.

Lindsey Wilson dominated the opening quarter, building a 21-4 lead over the opening seven minutes. The Mountaineers cut the LWC lead to 11 points by the end of the quarter. Lindsey Wilson outscored Berea 22-14 in the second quarter to take a commanding 46-27 lead into the halftime locker room.

Both squads recorded 23 points in an even third quarter before LWC outscored Berea 22-14 on their way to a 91-64.

Lindsey Wilson is back on the court on Thursday when they hit the road for their first of five straight away contest against Midway (Ky.).
