Box Score MIDWAY, Ky. -- Four Blue Raiders scored in double figures to help Lindsey Wilson women's basketball to a 74-64 road win at Midway (Ky.) on Thursday night at Marshall Gymnasium.
The Blue Raiders seized control midway through the first quarter and kept their hosts at arm's length the rest of the night to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Sydnie Hall hit a pair of 3-pointers, Amelia Hodges scored from deep, and Maleigha Oldham added a layup to help Lindsey Wilson turn a four-point deficit into a 21-14 lead in the opening quarter. The Blue Raiders did not trail again.
While Hall (13 points), Hodges (13), and Oldham (11) jump-started Lindsey Wilson, it was Bree Glover who shined throughout the night. She led the Blue Raiders with her second double-double of the season posting season-highs with 20 points and 17 rebounds.
Glover's rebounding helped Lindsey Wilson dominate the glass, outrebounding the Eagles (2-2) 47-28, including 10 offensive boards which led to 16 second-chance points.
Rebounding was not the only advantage during the game for Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders ended the night shooting over 47 percent (25-of-53) from the field, including making half of their 18 3-pointers. Lindsey Wilson did work on the defensive end as well, holding Midway to 33.3 percent (20-of-60) from the floor.
After leading by 10 points (26-16) after the first quarter, the Blue Raiders extended their lead to as many as 20 points in the second quarter before settling for a 13-point (47-34) halftime lead.
The Eagles battled back on multiple occasions -- cutting the deficit to single digits five times in the second half. Each time, Lindsey Wilson responded en route to the double-digit win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 18, as the Blue Raiders open Mid-South Conference play Bethel (Tenn.) in McKenzie, Tennessee.
