Men's Swimming Captures First at Igloo Invitational

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team finished in first place at the Igloo Invitational on Saturday afternoon as they totaled 912 points. The Blue Raiders produced the most points of the five team meet.

Lindsey Wilson produced two A cuts in relays while adding 10 provisional times.

Will Thilwind, Bryce Rice, Siaka Weidenbaum, and Tyler King notched an A cut in the 200-yard medley relay after touching the wall in first place at one minute and 33.90 seconds. James de Goede, Reece Kincaid, Chase Hickman, and King later teamed up in 400-yard freestyle relay for a first-place, A cut time of 3:08.57.

Kincaid and Malte Ahrens each collected provision time in the 400-yard IM. Kincaid finished in second at 4:15.06 as Ahrens took fourth with a 4:22.78. King picked up his provisional time in the 50-yard freestyle after crashing into the wall in second place. He produced a 21.46.

Thilwind and de Goede took first and second in the 100-yard backstroke. The pair produced times of 51.30 and 51.74 seconds, respectively. Both were provisional times. Fabio Martin took first place during the 200-yard freestyle after posting a provisional time of 1:41.50.

Tyler Buffel notched his provisional time of 2:11.20 in the 200-yard breaststroke. He took first place in the event. Weidenbaum, Kincaid, and Hickman all notched provisional times in the 100-yard butterfly as the trio took the top three spots finishing in 51.32, 51.41, and 51.90 seconds, respectively.
