Box Score RINCON, PUERTO RICO – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team opened their two-day trip in Puerto Rico in perfect fashion, winning 76-54 over Interamericana Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore guard Amerah Steele led the way once again for the Blue Raiders (7-6) with her second consecutive 26-point game while freshman guard Irye Gomez finished the game with a career-high 11 points. Bree Glover dominated the glass collecting eight rebounds while adding eight points. As a team, the Blue Raiders shot 27 of 75 for 36 percent from the floor, 13 of 33 from beyond the arc for 39.4 percent, and 9 of 14 from the free throw line for 64.3 percent in the game while also outrebounding the hosts 52-39.
The Blue Raiders led the hosts 48-24 at the half and used 31 bench points to secure the win on opening day.
The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team will conclude their trip to Puerto Rico tomorrow when they face off with the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. CT.
