Women's Basketball Falls To No. 1 Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The (RV) Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team lost to No. 1-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) 60-93 Tuesday evening in the Battle of Highway 55.

Maleigha Oldham led the Blue Raiders (5-5, 2-3 MSC) in scoring with 16 points in the game while Amelia Hodges led the team in rebounds collecting five in the match. As a team, Lindsey Wilson shot 42.1 percent overall and were outrebounded by Tigers 21-34.

The Blue Raiders opened the game with some strong defense as the two teams remained scoreless after the first two minutes of the quarter. Once the Tigers got their first bucket however, the Blue Raiders struggled to control the damage as the top-ranked team in the nation went on a 15-0 scoring run throughout the remainder of the quarter. Back-to-back buckets from Maleigha Oldham and Sydnie Hall cut the Tiger lead to 9-23 as time expired in the first.

The Tigers continued their hot scoring form into the second quarter as they opened a 21-point advantage at 16-37 after the first five minutes. A three from Juliah Bault before the half cut the advantage down to 19 points with the halftime score at 26-45.

Campbellsville proved why they're the top team in the nation as they continued to convert their offensive chances throughout the second half, leading to a 60-93 loss for the Blue Raiders.

The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team will return home on Friday to take on No. 13-ranked Indiana Wesleyan before leaving for Puerto Rico next week. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT in Biggers Sports Center.
