Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Red-hot shooting from deep helped propel the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team to an 83-63 win over Pikeville (Ky.) tonight in the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals at Studle Financial Arena.
The third-seeded Blue Raiders (19-4) matched a season-high hitting 15 3-pointers in the game -- making 65.2 percent from deep. It marks the sixth time this season the Blue Raiders hit double-digits from beyond the 3-point arc and the third time they have made 15.
Sydnie Hall set a career-high with seven 3-pointers while Maleigha Oldham connected on four and Reagan Turner hit three in the win.
While the Lindsey Wilson long-range game was clicking, the Blue Raider defense limited the Bears (14-9) to 38.6 percent shooting and forced 13 turnovers. Lindsey Wilson scored 18 points off the Pikeville miscues.
Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game, scoring 15 of the first 16 points against the undermanned Bears.
Pikeville and Lindsey Wilson each had players missing in the game -- the Bears were without two starters including leading scorer Brianna Burbridge while the Blue Raiders were missing Bree Glover.
The Blue Raiders extended their lead to as many as 18 in the first 20 minutes -- thanks to an efficient effort from 3-point range. Lindsey Wilson made six of 11 3-pointers in the first half -- three coming from Hall.
Pikeville climbed within 11 on two different occasions in the third quarter before the Blue Raiders stretched the lead back to 15 to close out the frame.
The stellar long-range shooting continued in the fourth quarter as Blue Raiders extended the lead to as many as 24 points (51-27) with just over six minutes left in the game.
Hall finished the game making seven of 10 3-pointers for 21 points while Turner -- who was selected as the H&W Player of the Game -- finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, seven assists. Oldham chipped in 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Blue Raiders advance to Monday's tournament semifinals where they face second-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.). The Lady Tigers beat Bethel (Tenn.) 76-44 in another quarterfinal game today. Tip-off is slated for 2:30 p.m. CT on Monday, March 1.
