Turner and Glover lead LWC to win over Georgetown on Senior Day

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Reagan Turner and Bree Glover both delivered on senior day helping guide the Blue Raiders (16-4, 11-4 MSC) to a 73-49 win over Georgetown (Ky.) at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson seniors Turner and Glover each finished with a game-high 19 points. Glover also turned in 13 boards to pick up her sixth double-double of the season while adding four steal and four blocks. Maleigha Oldham added 12 points and six rebounds in the winning effort.

Despite offensive struggles early in the contest, the Blue Raiders finished shooting 37.1 percent from the floor while limiting the Tigers (3-10, 2-9 MSC) to just a 27 percent mark. LWC took a slight advantage on the glass at 48-44 while racking up 13 steals.

Leading by just four points out of halftime, Lindsey Wilson came to life in the third quarter to push their lead to 14 points at 53-39 after three. Lindsey Wilson was 10-of-18 from the floor for a 55.8 percentage.

Two straight baskets by Maleigha Oldham and a lay-in by Glover quickly gave the Blue Raiders a 10 point lead just a minute into the third. From there LWC methodically pushed their advantage to as many as 14 multiple times before leading 53-39 entering the final frame.

The Blue Raiders put the game away in the fourth, increasing their lead to 24 points late in the action before claiming the 73-49 victory on senior day. The Tigers scored just 10 points in the quarter.

Lindsey Wilson struggled from the field in the first half shooting just 24.3 percent. Despite the offensive struggles LWC ultimately took a 31-27 lead into the break. The Blue Raiders put up eight more shots in the half than the Tigers due in large part to 10 Georgetown turnovers.

Whitney O'Mara led the way for Georgetown with 18 points as Grace White picked up a team-high 10 boards.

Lindsey Wilson returns to the court on Monday, Feb. 8, when they hit the road to take on Bethel (Tenn.).
