Box Score MCKENZIE, Tenn. - Back on November 21, Bethel came to Columbia and spoiled the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team's perfect tenure in overtime. Tonight, the Blue Raiders overcame a 19-point deficit en route to a riveting 78-76 Mid-South Conference victory.
Trailing 74-61 with 3:39 to play in regulation, a pair of free throws by Reagan Turner sparked what would become the deciding run. Inch-by-inch, the Blue Raiders crawled within striking distance of the Wildcats' lead. Over a one minute and 17-second stretch, Turner and Sydnie Hall combined to connect on three 3-pointers in as many possessions to tie the game at 76-76.
After a Bethel timeout, the Wildcats set up shop with 30 seconds separating the two sides from another overtime, but an offensive turnover just seven seconds later gave the ball back to the Blue Raiders with a chance to go for the win.
With the clock winding down, Turner charged into the paint and drew a foul, sending her back to the free-throw line where she would knock down both attempts to seal an incredible comeback win for Lindsey Wilson.
Despite a career-high 36 points from Turner, the senior will need to wait at least one more game to etch her name in Lindsey Wilson history. She closed the evening shooting 13-of-24 from the field, including 6-of-11 from 3-point territory while also snaring a team-high seven rebounds.
Also turning in a career-performance was Hall, whose 22 points come off an 8-of-16 effort from the field, including 6-of-12 from downtown.
It is the second time this season that both Hall and Turner each totaled 20 or more points in a single game.
Maleigha Oldham recorded a personal-best seven assists for the Blue Raiders (17-4, 12-4 MSC).
After fighting to a 20-20 tie at the end of the first quarter, Bethel raced out to a 41-22 lead midway through the second quarter. Lindsey Wilson stormed back to take a 53-51 lead in the third quarter before the Wildcats responded to restore their double-digit cushion in the early stages of the final frame.
Anya Patterson and Mickey Head scored 23 points each for Bethel.
Lindsey Wilson continues their road trip on Thursday at Cumberlands (Ky.), followed by a Saturday match-up at Pikeville (Ky.)
